Review on πŸͺ’ Parker Safety Razor Premium Badger Shaving Brush: Create Thick & Luxurious Lather with Stand - Black & Chrome Handle by Katie Chisholm

Fantastic foam brush with one downside.

I'm new to wet shaving. I switched from electric to wet shaving about 3 months ago. Before I began my wet shaving journey, I carefully did my homework on which razors, blades, and brushes would be the best. One of the first things I learned was that there are three types of razors. Brushes: boar, synthetic and badger. Boar and synthetic brushes tend to be cheaper. They can be purchased for as little as $15. As a rule, they are good, but it takes much longer to form a good foam. They are more expensive - some of them cost well over $100. However, if what I've learned is correct, badger brushes produce foam faster and better. Since I have a wild boar brush, I can absolutely confirm that. that the badger is the best choice. It took a day or two to adjust, but I can already see it producing an amazingly thick foam in 1/3 the time it takes to make a boar brush. This is important because you don't want to constantly fluff your brush to get a good lather. As others have said, it smells really strange at first and oily residue appears in the water. This is in the nature of the animal and the odor and residue will disappear within a few days. The brush itself? A hair or two fell out. It is in order. No broken crank yet as some others have reported. The only thing I don't like about this brush is the handle itself. Too short. I prefer a slightly longer grip for my hand. It also doesn't balance properly in the razor stand due to the short handle. Very happy with this brush. I suspect this is an entry-level "badger" brush compared to others. However, I'm very happy with the results I've had with it.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as other razors
