. These strips can block the microphone on some iMac models. mine with those stripes. I originally bought a kit that came with a temp sensor adapter cable, strips, and an opening tool from another company. I installed the strips as usual and then put everything back together, the microphone no longer worked. After researching it, I found that it might be blocked. So I looked everywhere for new strips and found this one. Disassembled the screen and sure enough, the tiny mic hole was blocked by the strips. This is actually a very simple solution. I have provided photos of what to look out for and how to fix the problem. The microphone is very small, I could be somewhere else on your iMac. Just cut a quarter inch piece from the strip where the mic hole is and you'll be fine. Much luck.
