I have winterized my Mustang. The battery didn't hold a charge last time - it was getting old so I thought I'd buy a battery. I wanted low current and ONLY 12V in case the AC went out and the unit restarted. I didn't want to worry about it doing something "bad" and damaging my car's battery. I didn't want desulphation either (some info on the web says it can damage the battery). It met all the criteria. I connected it to the battery. There is no spark, which is good (a different manufacturer's charger sparks at the same time). The lights are off which is good (the 3rd party charger indicated it was charging!). When I plugged it into an outlet, it showed that it was charging. I monitored the voltage at the battery terminals and it slowly increased as the battery charged. Battery voltage was 14.28v when charging. I like this one better than the other one I bought for my SUV so I'll either use it on both cars or buy another one (the price is right).
