Review on Uniden D1680: Cutting-Edge Cordless Phone with Answering System by Keri Lloyd

This system has many improvements over my previous system. First, all phones now "share" information. So if you enter your phone book in ONE handset, it is now available to ALL phones. Likewise, information about missed calls and caller ID is displayed on all phones. Second is the ability to put the phone into "sleep mode” (which again applies to all phones and can be done from any device). Previously, if you actually wanted to turn your phone off completely (so it wouldn't ring anywhere and you wouldn't hear an incoming message), your only option was to unplug it. You can hibernate this version - great if you're trying to avoid being harassed by telemarketers over dinner (or early Saturday mornings). Messages will continue to come, but you won't hear them until you "wake him up". It also works very well with caller ID (it seems to store about 43 numbers). My only criticism of this model is that it's a lot harder to figure out how to redial a number you recently called.
