The part that attaches to the phone is NOT black, it is raw metal (silver). The only real downside I have is that it can be difficult to get the phone to snap into place. If you try to put it on or turn it at even the slightest wrong angle, it won't snap! Another downside is that it protrudes a bit when fastening it with a belt. I wear it on the side of my hip and I found it sticks out far enough that I can't swing my arm while walking without hitting it. But the belt clip holds very well! And the magnet is VERY strong, I've never fallen out of it, and I'm pretty rough with it! Spring is still in great shape! Good job for the price!
