Review on Autel MaxiTPMS TS501: Upgraded Automotive Scan Tool for TPMS Sensor Programming & Relearn with OBD Diagnostic Scanner by Robbie Guinn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If you love DIY and need to control your TPMS system, you need this device

I cannot recommend this tool enough. We have a first generation Lexus IS 250 and have had a howling low pressure warning light at various times. The warning light came on occasionally after tire changes, low temperatures, etc. We have been to many tire shops and have given many reasons why the tire pressure light is on. Everything from faulty sensors to a missing replacement sensor to a faulty tire pressure receiver module (this unit is very expensive - over $500), so Autel is a good investment. . I decided to rectify the situation as I was replacing all four tires and wanted some peace of mind to use good new tyres. I came to Revain and chose the Autel MaxiTPMS TS50 and couldn't be happier. There are several different versions to choose from, so you need to decide what features you need in such a device. Unpacked, without looking through the detailed operating instructions, I received the device in working order. I found that out of the four sensors, two had extremely low batteries (indicated by a red low battery indicator). The remaining sensors are green, but not 100%. I've decided to add all the new Denso ads (also available here on Revain) for peace of mind. The good news is that you can clearly see where each sensor is on the battery level. On similar models of Lexus cars, there is no sensor in the replacement part (as one store incorrectly stated). For those inclined, it seems you can add a Denso TPMS sensor and add it to the car's computer so you know the air pressure in the spare tires. This keeps the spare tire properly inflated and ready for use in the event of a puncture. At a tire shop, you can tell the technician which sensors are good and which need replacing. It's also an easy way to protect yourself from selling tire sensors that you may not need. This item comes with a plastic carrying/storage case, an instruction manual and a cable to connect to the male OBD-II connector. This is a five star product and if you are a DIY enthusiast and maintain your own vehicles then you need this unit.
