Great docking station for Mac with enough ports

I used caldigit t3 plus at work and wanted something similar at home. Why you might ask? Well my desk is full of dongle wires and it's so difficult to manage everything and keep all the keys and everything connected to the macbook all the time (thanks Apple for making all the keys). I was actually planning to buy a t3 plus, but as luck would have it, Caldigit released a USB-C Pro docking station that is cheaper than t3plus and meets my needs. I didn't need the extra USB-C and USB-A ports, so it

Using two docks for Macbook Pro 16 "

I bought two separate docks for use with the 16" MBP (2019), one for the home and one for the office. I was looking for a docking station with built-in networking, USB ports (for an external mouse), high-resolution DisplayPort support at 60Hz, and could power my Macbook Pro. There are many unnamed brands that sell compatible Revain docks, but the seemingly rave reviews turned out to be mostly fake when I used a third-party site to verify the validity of the reviews. I literally spent hoursโ€ฆ

Finally a working document. NO MORE

Update 9/5/2020 CalDigit will not even replace it or issue a refund. So much arrogant and ignorant support. Will NEVER buy a CalDigit product. Update: 23/23/2020 Well my party is over before you know it. I am contacting CalDigit now, haven't heard from them but am so disappointed to report a major CRASH in my configuration. I use this docking station with my Dell work laptop, my personal Lenovo Yoga X380, and 15-inch MacBook Pro. Well, 2 days ago I connected my Lenovo to a lightning cable andโ€ฆ

No coil whine/SB 2 and XPS 13 2-in-1 compatible with 7390

I used a Monoprice USB-C dock with my SB2 and recently bought an XPS 13 2-in-1 for some finishing work I do. The Monoprice was great, worked with both machines, but there was very noticeable coil noise and I tried to change cables (long plug-in dock cable (compatible with TB3 and USB C) to no avail). In my XPS purchase research, there was a lot of people talked about the coil whine that the older XPS 13s demonstrated, explaining that some components on the motherboard were probably the culpritโ€ฆ

Do not buy if you want to use the ethernet port

I own an IT consulting company. I would never recommend my customers to buy this dock even though it seems almost perfect on paper. I used the docking station with a new 2020 MacBook Air. The USB port replication worked flawlessly and delivered enough power to use the iPad with a sidecar. The docking station provided enough power to quickly charge my MacBook Air. I used it with an old Dell monitor. I had to buy an active Displayport to DVI adapter but it worked in the end. The monitor did notโ€ฆ

One cable to your Macbook Pro

One cable gets my 13" MacBook Pro powered, USB-C drive for Time Machine backup, 4K 60Hz Monitor via Displayport, USB webcam and stock USB ports If you work 60% desk and 40% mobile, this is not a problem For the price of adapters (which do not support 60Hz 4K) and a more powerful power supply for your desk (to power your MacBook PLUS with everything plugged into the Thunderbolt/USB ports), you get a one-cable solution.Leave the Apple-supplied USB power adapter in your backpack in case you areโ€ฆ

Love it on Notebook Accessories

I have an earlier version of the Caldigit USB-C Dock from September 2017. It still works well and meets the needs. I gifted it to my wife and bought this new one while looking forward to buying a second monitor. This docking station looks and feels good, the color now matches my MacBook Pro 15. Some new things: - Charges a full 85W when all possible ports are occupied. Finally I can connect everything with one cable. Hooray! - Docking station now turns off when not in use (auto disconnectโ€ฆ

Bought this dock for my Macbook Pro and ran into a couple of issues: The ethernet port isn't really used - every time the laptop goes to sleep it generates a kind of interference that makes everything connected to the network switch connected to the dock to stop communication. I contacted support and they said this is a known issue and hopefully will be fixed in a software update. They sent me a beta driver to try - it actually solved this particular problem, but I still experience frequentโ€ฆ

Doesn't work with Catalina and MacBook Pro 16 inch

2nd FIX: Now 2 months after purchase the device won't boot any screen. Sometimes the screens flicker a few times per second, but most of the time they don't even wake up. When I switch to using two USBC->HDMI adapters instead of Caldigit, the monitors work fine. EDIT: I was finally able to speak to CalDigit Support and they confirmed that there are issues with the Catalina and/or 16-inch MacBook Pro that are causing the displays to not function properly. I'm using this with a new 16" MacBook
