I used caldigit t3 plus at work and wanted something similar at home. Why you might ask? Well my desk is full of dongle wires and it's so difficult to manage everything and keep all the keys and everything connected to the macbook all the time (thanks Apple for making all the keys). I was actually planning to buy a t3 plus, but as luck would have it, Caldigit released a USB-C Pro docking station that is cheaper than t3plus and meets my needs. I didn't need the extra USB-C and USB-A ports, so it was nice to get what I needed for less money. I'm glad I have the USB-C option to control this device if I get a Windows laptop that doesn't have a Thunderbolt3 port in the future. The only thing I would like to say is that not all HDMI cables to an active display port will work. I got one from Revain which only caused the screen to flicker. What actually worked was using a regular HDMI cable and connecting an active display port to an HDMI adapter.
