I don't know how many times I've dropped my remote controls on a wooden floor only to see them break. They then become tape monster remotes that are held together with duct tape, duct tape, or some other type that keeps the color and somehow matches it. This makes it unnecessary as I've dropped my Sheild remote off a sofa armrest or chair headrest a few times now and haven't seen a scratch on it at all. It just lands with a thud and wears just as well. The added glow-in-the-dark feature also helps when watching movies late at night, and I have to find it. That little glow makes a big difference in a dark room. I love this product and wish I could get them for every remote I own.
