I bought these to replace the simple on/off light that came with my aquarium. My fish were startled by the light when I opened the curtains in the morning. Now I slowly adjust the light in the aquarium before waking up so that when they open the curtains they are already in the bright aquarium. This works very well. I haven't had any problems with suction cups yet. I didn't use glue and they lasted 11 days. I will update when they fall off. September 5th, 2021: The light on my old tank lasted a few months before I bought a larger tank and moved the light. The new tank looked patchy and the plastic cap looked dingy. The light kept dropping out every few days so I ended up gluing it on. The texture of the surface is of great importance.
