In an effort to help others with plantar fasciitis let me tell you what has worked for me after 8 months of PF, 2 doctor visits and 4 weeks of PT โ it wasn't a doctor and a physiotherapist, although my physiotherapist helped. PT had me do ankle pumps (30 times when I wake up every morning) and 3 x 12 eccentric calf raises every other night with an aerobic stepper (KLB Sport 27" adjustable exercise step platform). Every other night 3 x 12 x 2 first two exercises with this ProStretch calf stretcher and foot rocker (original). I keep doing this all night. At the same time, I've used a "let's try" approach to complete this as quickly as possible. Although the exercise helped, what really helped me What made me better from 70% to 95% was the following: Posterior Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint (MARS Wellness) - much better than the previous one I tried from Futuro It looks big and chunky but is actually more comfortable at night Futuro also made some parts of my leg numb Beurer foot massager with built in heater, shiatsu like functions - use it 45mins a day with heat at night I use it lightly at first until the foot is warm (5-10 minutes), then apply pressure to the heel area. There are ligaments and fibers that need to be torn/torn a bit in the heel. It works wonders for that. It hurts a little at first, but the heel becomes numb as you gently increase the pressure on the heel. I hope I don't have to do this forever up to about 1 week and it seems to help a lot. Sof Sole Arch Full Length Comfort High Arch Shoe Insole For Men And Women - I've also tried the orange and yellow SuperFeet and love them. . These are better for me as the heel is soft. I now use them in all my shoes and shoes. They help but don't heal. Hopefully when I get back to 100% this will help prevent future outbreaks. Fish Oil Supplement - 1 time per day. It is an anti-inflammatory without the long-term problems associated with daily use of NSAIDs. Penetrex pain management - not sure if it works but keep trying. If nothing else is available, you can apply 2 or 3 times a day. TheraBand Foot Roller - PT recommended this but I didn't find it helpful. This doesn't allow enough pressure on the heel to disrupt what's going on there that needs to be changed. I replaced it with a Beurer foot massager, which works much better for me. Hope this helps someone else with these problems. I hope that this regime will completely cure the problem in another 2-3 weeks.
