If you look at this pillow because it looks like a popular adult bedroom pillow, I can vouch for its effectiveness. While I haven't used the proprietary wedge, it definitely works as expected. It's very firm and supportive, my friend loves it. As a bonus, I put my regular pillow on top and it's great for watching TV or reading in bed! The case is very thin and thin. So if you're worried about stains, I recommend buying a separate case or just throwing a towel over it.
