Review on Advanced Arm and Hammer by Jackie Shallenberger

Absorbx forms hard clumps, but it's the absolute *worst* litter you'll find

Arm & Hammer appears to have discontinued Clump & Seal Lightweight, a dust-free cat litter, and years later is in one Using predicament, I bought this imaginary replacement. The old litter was brown (matching the color of the best toilet mat we use) and although it formed brittle clumps, the staining was relatively minimal. Absorbx is the color of South Beach Sand. It clumps like a boss, making daily litter box cleaning the ultimate pleasure. That's good news. But the bad news is actually, really, really bad. In decades of owning cats (we currently have three), I have never seen such a bad cat litter trail. In the beginning I have to vacuum the carpet at least once a day. Our dark wood stairs a good 30 feet from the litter box have traces of white sand. Garbage is everywhere in the house. Worst of all, cats' paws are covered in white sand powder, and standing on a piece of dark furniture, which we have plenty of, leaves white paw prints and other streaks of white powder all over it. And you can't just wipe away those powder marks — you have to at least take a damp paper towel and wipe it off. One of our cats jumped on my lap yesterday - I was wearing dark olive shorts. Guess what I was wearing? I don't know what half-baked genius at Arm & Hammer designed this pen, but while they did a great job with the clumping part, at worst they completely screwed up the trailing part, resulting in lost sales. way conceivable. Excellent compressibility gives two stars. Without it - a star. Don't buy this incredibly poorly designed filler. And Arm & Hammer, fire the kitty litter team. You lost that customer. EDIT: After going back to an option I haven't used in about 10 years - Tidy Cat 24/7 regular weight cat litter - and had no luck clumping badly and pee soaking - off the edges of the Clumps stuck to the sides of the litter box (yeccch), I noticed that regular weight Clump & Seal Multi-Cat is still for sale. I switched to this and it's been a dream, both in terms of clumping (as good as Absorbx and the old lightweight Clump & Seal) and tracking. The only negative, of course, is not easy. But if you can get over that, it's the best thing there is in my opinion. Unfortunately, Revain was having trouble selling it, so I had to buy it regularly from a big store that starts with a "W".

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
