I love these pens! I have the whole set of Copic Sketch markers and this little set of 52 Chameleon pens can do everything the Copics can and even some things they can't! I can't get the smooth gradations with Copics like with Chameleon. I can't always get different tones in the same color scheme like chameleons can. I can't color a stamp with just three markers like a chameleon. The list goes on. I love my Copic markers, don't get me wrong. But chameleon pencils are a welcome addition to my painting supplies. I've reviewed these pens before and read some (non-Revain) reviews that put me off them. I saw an ad on Facebook showing markers in action and decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did. Pros: - The 52-piece set comes with a case that converts into a work stand. - There are many tutorials and free downloads on Chameleon website if you join the creative community. They only send out a newsletter once a month - no spam! - They also offer beginner, intermediate and advanced online courses - the colors are super easy to use! - perfect gradations. No seams, no constant mixing and no need to use 3 or even 5 pens to get the desired effect - very easy to create shadows - great if you really want to highlight the light source - just fun to use - will soon to have the addition of 'colored vertices' so you can blend two colors easily - the set comes with a blender pen, a drawing pen and interchangeable nibs - they are made to be compatible with other alcohol markers so you can use them with Copics (or Prisms, Pro Markers, Spectral Noirs, etc.) e.) Cons: I'm not a fan of brushes. It's a real brush pen, unlike what I'm used to from Copics. I feel like they are wearing out too much too quickly (some wear is to be expected but I've already replaced a few in my most used colors). - The gradation goes from light to dark, so it is sometimes difficult to get back into the range. and get the same mixture as before. In these areas I often use the Blender Pen and touch it to the colored tip to get the transition from dark to light. - There is a learning curve when you are used to other brand alcohol markers. If you're used to Copics, you must take the time to flip through some of the manuals! So there are more pros than cons. I really like these pens; if you like having options and love gradients and shades, you need these pens!
