These cartridges are just excellent. No worse than any other cartridge on the market. It's UL approved, which is excellent. I have old industrial metal lampshades that I put them in. I just used silicone glue to attach the lamp socket to the metal shade. It took a bit of effort to straighten the nest but I managed and let the silicone glue dry overnight. I used silicon glue because if there was a mistake or it needed to be replaced you can cut the frame out of the silicon with a knife. If you use any construction adhesive it will be very difficult to remove the socket and your chances of ruining the lamp or lampshade are high. Some people complained about the lack of screws, but two extra screws were in a plastic bag. You don't have to have paid attention when opening the bag. You may need to get creative if you have an old or weird lamp that you put cartridges in.
