Good sound, bad design

I listen to a lot of music, but I have to admit that I'm not attuned to the subtle differences in bitrate and sound quality that some audiophiles are. I've been using the Symphonized NRG 3.0 headphones for years and they've always done their job, but I wanted to treat myself to better headphones and they've proven popular in my price range. sound good and feel high quality. However, I'm going back to Symphonized because they're so awkward. First, they're designed to wrap around your ear, but not in a way that's terribly intuitive - not such a big deal, but it takes longer than it takes to fit them properly in my ears. They also tend to get messy with my face mask. Obviously they were developed years before COVID but it still sucked when I got caught on a cord and they ripped my mask off me in the middle of a supermarket. Very embarrassing. They also get tangled easily, but to be honest these are most headphones. Another issue I had is the earbuds snapping into place. I don't know why that is (these headphones aren't in the price range where you'd want to replace individual components), but it's a hassle because they'll hang around and fail if they're not spot on. : Great sound for the price, but poor design makes it difficult to use.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
