This camera system is good for the price but definitely has its downsides and ease of use is not one of them. Advantages: Cameras are easy to mount and connect to the system. Since the camera has IP connections, I wanted to connect external cameras, but without access to a Windows laptop and proper instructions, it was difficult. So I gave up and made them wireless. The camera has a good picture and the night vision works well, and on my model the built-in TV screen is easy to use. Cons: The software is basic, without some computer experience most people won't be able to understand the terminology or setup procedures. Due to signal problems in certain parts of the house I had to buy 2 extra antennas (one included). The computer software (for use on a laptop) and the iPhone app are too buggy and crash more often than they work. Therefore, using it remotely is hit and miss. It's absent most of the time as it doesn't connect, which takes away from the remote viewing ability, which was a huge plus for me. In general: I know the house is monitored (NVR) so I feel a bit safe as the outside cameras are visible to visitors, but I can't trust the remote or desktop function as they don't work most of the time . If you need a system for its remote capabilities this isn't a good buy, but if you need it for an in-case scenario then this is the level of protection. Finally the support from the company was good, they will contact you overnight (they are in China) so it takes around 8 hours to get the email (time difference). However, due to my work and family, I can spend so much time looking for software issues that seem to be the root cause. Sometimes the camera loses communication with the base station and you just need to reset the device to recover it. I don't know why they fail, but they are there, so sometimes the system is buggy, but there's always room for improvement.
