DO NOT use the filter if you have an African dwarf frog!

My 15 year old daughter got this for her birthday as an upgrade to two of her favorite ADFs. (Without being dramatic to be, she loves her frogs.) We packed it last night and set them up for the night. She was thrilled to give them a bigger house. She woke me up in a fit of rage this morning. Turns out one her frogs (Charlie) got its foot stuck in the filter Instead of a long mesh-covered hose that sucks water up and past the filter propeller into the filter reservoir, this filter has a relatively large slotted lid that keeps the animal away from the propeller, which is only a few centimeters tall gone (you see what I'm getting at. ๐Ÿ˜ณ) There's not enough room for the little frog's long hind leg. His poor little frog leg got sucked into the propeller heeded Charlie, crushing his leg and eventually pulling him out between the spinning blades and the suction (we could see a few inches of bone stripped of flesh). It's absolutely awful. Like a horror movie. Only with your child's pet. Finding him dead wouldn't be such a trauma. We don't know how long he was stuck. He broke his other leg. He was alive when my daughter found him and turned off the filter. We put him in the freezer because there is absolutely nothing we can do to help him. We had no idea this could happen. abominable. So if you plan on using this tank for African dwarf frogs, ditch the damn filter and buy one that doesn't have that little area between the filter cover and the propeller.
