Neat product. However, you need a HAM operator license to use it!

Thought it would be handy for listening to local LEO channels and using when cycling. However, I realized too quickly what could happen if I try to use them without the right license and training. They might be good for emergencies, but that's about it. There's nothing quite like CB radio. Due to the intent to use it as a long-range radio to contact friends on the trail, it quickly became apparent that ham radios were more suited to emergencies than people used to being commoners. band radios. They are good for surveillance. You need to go online to update everything and program the channels. Not very intuitive for a beginner. Ever since I was politely chewed up for using this radio I have stayed away from anything ham radio related. I got a beginner's license written in Morse code. and i tried it many years ago and its not for me. The license isn't cheap either.
