Just replace it while you're at it, it's cheap
There was a problem with the fan that didn't work when I powered the old fan and it worked. What I did then was just replace the thermistor and everything worked for a day. What I had to do with the old fan motor was replace it first. I hate doing the same job twice but this happened. Maybe this will help someone else facing the same problem.
