The Real Deal: Tack Care

There is a lot of confusion about foot oil. In the past, the product was made by boiling the beef drumsticks. It is believed that the oil in the pad protects the feet from freezing. This oil is also found in small amounts in the fat deposits of cattle and is extracted and concentrated using modern production techniques. There are no leg cooker manufacturers anymore. Be careful when buying foot oil. Some manufacturers dilute the product with cheaper oil, for example mineral oil. Fiebing Oil is a pure cleaning oil - I've been using it for many years, back then it was still available in red and white metal cans. No, I'm not a Fiebing Neatsfoot oil salesman! They just make a product that I like.
