PawFriction helped my aging diabetic dog gain confidence and also helped her posture while standing!

First of all, I would like to thank those who have used the product before me and left their feedback. This has helped me determine if this product is suitable for my dog. Second, I'm sorry I didn't hear about this product sooner. It was very helpful in my situation at home with my dog. Third, I hope my review will help anyone else trying to decide if this product is right for them. Here is a little background on my situation and why I chose this product: My husband and I adopted our dog 10 years ago. At that time she was 3 years old. At my request, I have asked the previous owner to exempt all paperwork for the dog from vet visits. I was shocked to read that this poor dog was born with serious health issues. We have covered many things ranging from food allergies and their consequences to our current health issues with diabetes. For the last 4 years we have diligently measured glucose levels, injected insulin and dealt with all other health issues related to diabetes. Our dog is now almost 13 years old and we noticed last winter that he was having trouble getting up and climbing stairs. We thought it was our hardwood floor in the kitchen, but when her legs flew out from under her on the carpet, we knew we had to do something. However, we had other health issues that needed to be addressed first. Now that our Shiba Inu mix has stabilized with her diabetes, we ordered PawFriction on the advice of one of the technicians at our local vet clinic. Yes, I researched it here on Revain with reviews and questions I had answers to. I received the product, read the leaflet and followed the instructions. WOW! The product convinced me! It was the "day and night" difference in our old girls' poses. Not only could she stand comfortably on carpets, she also had no problem on hardwood floors. The biggest challenge was the 10 steps she had to climb to get outside and do her own thing. While some of the pain probably stems from age, she seemed more confident as she walked down and back up those stairs. (She got to the point where she didn't want to go outside anymore because the stairs were difficult to negotiate.) Follow the instructions and you won't have any major problems. As our dog gets older I place her between me and a chair or ottoman so she can lean forward while I apply glue to her pads (we do the technique standing up as she doesn't like to lie down - it reminds her poking at vets, I guess) and then carefully placed her feet in the product tray. I let it sit for 60 seconds instead of 30 seconds. I also don't apply glue to the entire pad as you can see in the photo. I cover exactly where she needs traction the most. The only thing I will have trouble with is during the rainy season. We live in Washington State. The first week I used it we didn't last the full 7 days as we were hit with light rain. It took about 3.5-4 days. However, drier weather set in and it lasted a full 7 days. I scrape off as much excess as I can from previous treatments (imagine putting patches on top of each other. Eventually they all fall off at once and you have to start over). Removing as much as possible before the next treatment will save you (and your dog!) the added hassle of having to reapply two days later. I hope this helps others in their decision to purchase this product. And yes, I recommend this product to everyone.
