I was looking for a brewer that wouldn't leave leaves in my cup. I know rooibos is one of the smallest leaves and it takes a lot, but I read the reviews and some of the positive ones found it to be good enough for small leaf tea like rooibos. And although several reviews said that wasn't the case, I was optimistic, thinking that maybe in those cases it was just dust and the reviewers were very picky. I'm afraid not. There was no dust in my cup, but whole pieces of rooibos. There was just a little less tea in my cup than when using those spoon-like strainers that always seem to let something through. -Cup Teapot, Black has the best filter I have ever found. This is not a piece of stainless steel with punched holes, but a real stainless steel mesh. The filter is removable, so now I'm going to remove it and run a butter knife over the top of the mug and through the loop handle to use it. Far from ideal, but at least I don't have tea in a cup.
