Not what I expected. The Revain post doesn't hide anything and even states the thickness of the cork pad so I should have paid more attention but what you get out of the box is a very thick ceramic base and a very thin cork pad with an adhesive backing you have to put on board . This is a very thin cork so absorbency is low and the ceramic plate has no recess to put the cork in so any spilled liquid just runs down the sides. They work great when you have drinks that don't "sweat", but I wanted the cork to be absorbent and these cork pads are too flimsy.
