Great update for MSI GS63VR

follow-up: 9/13/18: I contacted the original seller who sold me my original AUO panel as they no longer have the Revain store; The LCD they sent me was a "compatible" LG screen; exactly the same ugly one that came with my laptop! In any case, be aware that this whole LCD parts business is a mess; You won't know what you're getting until it arrives. For now I can just give up, use the original LG screen that came with my laptop and not worry about finding a good B156HAN01.2 replacement. Working on my laptop and destroyed the AUO screen I ordered a year ago. Since I was very happy with the LCD screen, I decided to order a replacement based on my purchase history. Vivo supplies InnoLux N156HCE-EAA INSTEAD of AUO B156HAN01.2. The quality of the InnoLux is nowhere near as good as that of the AUO panel. So I am turning to Revain to fix the issue now as Vivo is not supplying the correct product. When ordering this product, please check the part number before installing to be sure! Great LCD panel! A perfect upgrade and replacement for the Best Buy version of the MSI GS63VR gaming laptop. Installation took about 5-10 minutes with just an old plastic card, a pick and a small Phillips screwdriver. The beauty of this panel is the color accuracy compared to LG's factory installed panel. When upgrading the screen of an MSI GS63VR, be sure to carefully start peeling the bezel near the bottom right hinge as it is not glued there. Slowly and carefully move the plastic wedge around the bezel, paying attention to the left side as the webcam/mic cable is underneath. Calibrated for D65, SRGB has an average delta of 2.1. A value <1 is not visible to the human eye due to color inaccuracy; mean >3 is not true. Compared to the color accuracy of the factory LCD, I didn't come close to upgrading to the Calman ColorChecker for free. As far as I remember, the best we could get from the factory panel was an average deltaE of 12 points, with a point close to 20; really ugly screen compared to this gem! + Viewing angles are still excellent. - Slight bleeding on the bottom left and right as seen in another reviewer's post, only visible on a completely black screen and not with normal content viewing, and a contrast ratio of around 1300:1. Not bad overall, still a good screen for gaming . Another reviewer was able to "overclock" their panel to 100 Hz. That being said, my screen backlight almost flickered even after going back to 60Hz and rebooting. Thankfully, after turning it off and on, the screen was back to normal. The highest overclock I can successfully run without weird issues is 64 Hz. That's not worth the headache for me. YMMV Sorry I don't know much about color calibration aside from the most basic concepts, but it turned my annoying I couldn't stand MSI gaming laptop into something that can be fun. Don't think twice, just buy!
