This is a quality product and it does exactly what it says in the description - it opens at 63ºC instead of 80ºC. I think this works in the Summers are great, but in winter (even during California's moderate rainy season) the engine runs much colder, resulting in higher idle, lower power (because the engine isn't able to reach proper operating temperature), and regular maintenance. Engine Soon Bright. This is the perfect product if you race your car and as a result your engine gets hotter than usual, reaching the correct operating temperature even with the thermostat wide open. However, if you drive normally, you should NOT install this thermostat. There is no tangible benefit to running the engine in sub-normal temperatures, it is detrimental to it. You need a special card to avoid the SES light even if you live in Arizona. TL/DR: BAD for normal use, could be good for racing (YMMV).
