There is nothing wrong with this bed - I cannot recommend it highly enough for large dogs, especially those who like to dig and curl up to sleep. If you have a digger that really likes to climb in before settling down, the center pillowcase is attached to the rest of the bed so you don't have to separate the two. The 40" was MUCH larger than I was expecting (in a good way) and I often find our two 65 pound dogs snuggly in it together (although it's comfortable for the two). We originally bought this for our youngest pup (a Chocolate Lab) after he turned 1 year old and stopped growing, but our Retriever/Pit Bull (who is about 5 years old) has started giving it to his old Donut- Bed preferable and regularly tucks it in. I just ordered a 52 inch bed so they can sleep properly in it and she will still have the smaller one in the living room for daytime naps. Very surprised to read the reviews of the bed having been deflated or losing the pillow - we've had this first one for about 3 months and it's as soft as the day it arrived! I washed it for the first time a few weeks ago after a pleasant sniffle and it was easy to take the covers off (they detach from the outer ring and center pad for full cleaning) and just put them back on. .In summary: Great investment - best donut bed I've found at Revain! 40 inches fits a 65 lb dog with plenty of room and even squeezes in 2 of them. Excited about the arrival of the 52" bed and my two puppies (and myself) would 100% recommend this bed.
