I bought a Seagate external hard drive for my son's 14th birthday. The thing turned out to be scrap after the first week. When we plugged it in it just made a sound but didn't register with our Xbox One. My son came downstairs to dinner with tears in his eyes and didn't want to talk. We tried to ask what was going on and he tried to brush us off. Our other son told us what had happened and I examined him and found that he was defective. I assured him we could still get his games and download them again from Xbox. I sent it back for a refund and then the descent rolled even further. I sent the defective hard drive back within 30 days but only received half the purchase price. Then I learn that if you don't return the product in the original packaging, you only get half the money back. How do I know this stuff won't last a week. I just bought a hard drive and expect it to work. While waiting for a refund, I contacted (via email) the seller (Seagate) and asked how I could just make a fair exchange and promote the insurance plan. You haven't answered me yet. moral of the story; They sell junk, mislead consumers and don't deserve your business.
