I bought this due to the fact that the twins can not get through a week without either screaming at their 17yr old older sister, each other, or my husband and/or I. So this bell was bought for the dinner table as my "You have gone too far, you have 5,4,3 seconds to hush or I am going to remind you that."Pro:It's smiling, that seems to send the message home, while I may look crazed and angry when I form my newest forehead wrinkle. I am smiling on the inside over what vulgar, vile, venomous, vestige that is about to spew from my twisted mind, forked tongue, & cheerless heart that can run colder than a beavers spittle in a January evening in Canada.I would gift one to my friends, if their kids were still teens.Cons:I didn't find this years ago to keep the peace at the dinner table.OVERALL:It works for my intended use. Considering since it has arrived, nobody had caused me to ring the bell.Yet.
