From the stove to the oven and to the table. This cast-iron roaster is almost infinitely versatile in the kitchen. From preparing a Sunday roast to roasting breakfast to baking no-knead bread, you'll find everything you need in this cookware set. This crockery can only be washed by hand. It's also important to use enough cooking oil, especially as it will likely replace most other pans in your kitchen. This is a versatile cooking pan. I use it for almost everything except frying. There is no silicone on the handles so be sure to use a thick towel or gloves to hold this roaster as it gets very hot and quite heavy. for 2-4 people. For a large company or to prepare large batches of stew, tomato sauce or chili peppers, you may need a large Dutch Oven. If you enjoy cooking and want the benefits of cast iron and easy-to-clean enamel, this is a worthwhile investment. I have several Le Creuset ceramics to bake with, but cast iron is in a class of its own. Unlike porcelain stoneware, which is made in China, cast iron products are made in France.
