Exactly what I was hoping for.

I read all the reviews first and I'm glad I did because there were some good suggestions. First, all ports work, and since it draws power from the Thunderbolt port (which was wasted), I now have enough ports. The addition of USB-C is ideal, especially if the rumors that new iPads will use USB-C are true. The USB ports are solid, so before installing the hub I plugged and unplugged flash drives to get a feel for them. The slight downward angle seems to make them much lighter. You still have to use two hands. I included the image above for reference to the installation instructions. They could have been better written in the box. The 4 black tabs at the top do not line up. BEFORE installing, spin the wheel and you will see the 2 center tabs move forward until all 4 are aligned. Look at the bottom edge of your iMac. You will see the slots where you will insert these tabs. AFTER insertion, turn the wheel in the opposite direction and the 2 center tabs will return to their original position within the slots. Ledges take over slots. Tighten gently with your finger until the bushing is tight. Do not overtighten or the threads will break. One reviewer cited a white light on the hub. When you're sitting facing the center of your iMac (like most people do), it's nothing more than a tiny white light on the front of my MacMini and external hard drives. It's unobtrusive and adds to the look and feel of the hub. I installed on an iMac (Retina 5K, 27" 2017).

Pros
  • USB hubs
Cons
  • Slightly torn
