Great First Drone - Remote and App Controlled Vehicles

First it is listed as a baby drone. So, as expected, it's tiny, I just wasn't prepared for how tiny it is. When shipped, the drone fits entirely within the controller in an area of approximately 2 1/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches! However, after you pull it out, "wings" will sway from each corner, after which you click on the guards. Once assembled, it measures approximately 4.5 x 4.5 x 1.25 inches tall. The remote control uses 4 AAA batteries and the drone itself uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. After assembly, you need to charge the drone. , either from the controller itself or with a USB cable that allows you to use your existing wall charger for your phone, for example. The manual says it takes about 60 minutes to charge, but mine took about 20 minutes to charge, so I'm not sure if it was partially charged when it arrived. When the light on the cord goes out, it's charged. Now we are ready Our first trip ! Pairing the remote control with the drone was easy and automatic. Just turn on the drone, then turn on the remote control, it will beep and you're connected! Now calibrate the controller by holding the left stick down and right and the right stick down and left. One beep and you're good to go. -Off Left joystick controls lift and left-right rotation (ie turning). Just move the joystick in the direction you want the drone to fly. Altitude control is automatic: once you reach the desired altitude, simply release the left joystick and it will hold that altitude. Now you can only "steer" the drone with the right joystick. It's all very straight forward and I thought flying was really cool. It sounds like a little hive of bees in my living room and after a few minutes the woman said she would hit it (or was she saying me?) if I didn't turn it off. Spoil the sport. Anyway, I flew it for about 8 or 10 minutes and it still worked on the first charge. I'm not sure how long the charge will take (not stated in the manual) but I'm guessing 15 minutes or so, but we'll see. Overall it's a lot of fun to fly, small enough that kids can't do too much damage just depending on what they crash into! I highly recommend this little drone to those who want to get a drone, have a lot of fun without investing a lot of money.
