Three modes: blinking, steady on and off. I wish they had a phase on and off mode. For the price they are really great. They glow very brightly and I love that there are lots of ghosts, spiders, pumpkins and bats on the chain, all on ONE string. 20 lights. I looked at several others on Revain and couldn't find another that had all the characters together on the same line. They're perfect for a little decoration here or there - not overly over the top but definitely not stingy, or they're a decent size - 6.5ft jewelry chain. Batteries are not included, 3 AA batteries are required. The good thing is that you don't have to loosen the screw for the small battery compartment. Just a bar. Will use this for years.
