I needed an S-Video to 3.5mm converter for my streaming device and it worked perfectly. I was able to use my desktop PC speakers (3.5mm) by connecting them to an adapter and then S-Audio (optical) to my streaming device. A nice feature is that the required power is provided via the mini USB port. No bulky adapter. I was able to use my USB from my PC to provide power. Audio sounds great.
