The H11b electrical adapter manual consisted of a small sticker directing you to contact tech support if you needed help. God that was very informative. So, armed with this detailed information, I inserted a small pin plug into the lamp socket, and it will fall out with a little provocation no matter what I do. It's time for MacGyver. I pulled out a small amount of excess wire going to the H11b connector and carefully stripped the insulation without cutting the wire and soldered the adapter wires by removing the spade terminals and sealed the connection with tape. Not easy but doable, resulting in a reliable connection for LED bulbs or a real H11b bulb. I thought I killed the dragon and waited until dark to see the results. When it finally got dark, I turned on my new headlights and saw a very bright, fuzzy spot of light coming out of the passenger-side bulb. HOORAY! The short version is that the tiny screw holding the retaining ring to the lamp wasn't tightened, and it's amazing how little wobble it takes to knock the focus and scope off. If they hold up everything will be fine, but this job was an order of magnitude harder than any of my other LED headlight upgrades. Maybe there's a better H11b update out there, because it's not for the faint of heart!
