I originally got one of those gooseneck mounts. It was cheaper and they offer finer tuning. But it didn't offer the "strength" or more specifically the stability I wanted. This product does. I would like the device mount to be laterally adjustable (like a ball mount for example) and not just an up/down hinge. But it's worth sacrificing something to avoid dealing with a bouncing/jigging tablet. This image shows how strong and stable a hand can be. This is an iPad Pro. Let's see how your gooseneck can handle that stably, let alone hold that weight so far.
