The outsole supports this shoe. The outer part is very flexible and light, adapts well to the foot. Shock absorbing insole with low resilience. These shoes don't have a lot of traction on the sole, but just enough to keep the foot stable while still being light and agile. They lace up quite tight and even my 9 year old sometimes needs help to lace them up properly so they fit exactly how she needs them to.
