I bought one of these weighted blankets. I've always wanted to try one and the price was spot on. I ordered one and was very pleased after a few nights of good sleep. I should mention that I've never really slept well and am usually awake after 3 hours and can't get back to sleep for an hour or two and then only (occasionally) doze off until it's time to get up. Soooo, my first few nights were amazing. I bought 4 more blankets as gifts - for family members including my husband who wanted to try it (and I didn't even want to give mine up for the night). After a week or two I started having problems - sweating and fever. The blanket itself doesn't hold in the heat - it was completely inside me, but I couldn't get back to sleep. POOH! So I stopped using it. (It turned out a little later that it was probably a hormonal issue, and once that was sorted out I went back to using my blanket and slept fine.) I still wake up after 3 hours, but I can go back to sleep fairly easily. You don't want to get out of bed in the morning because it feels so good under a weighted blanket. I think I'll sleep at least another hour or two because of this blanket. I gave the rest of the blankets to my mother, my daughter and my husband. My husband kinda hated it. He said it was too difficult and he felt too restricted. He refused to give more than two nights so I think his opinion is a bit subjective. My mom liked it for the first few nights and then she felt a bit heavy too. But after several nights without him, she returned to him and now he likes him very much. She feels it was just a period of getting used to it. (It should be noted that 15 pounds was the right weight for all three of us.) My adult daughter didn't really like her weight (and it may have been too heavy for her since she's smaller and would probably do better). with 10 or 12 pounds) But her husband liked it so he's keeping it! The bottom line is that you shouldn't give up after trying it for just a few nights. Give it a little more time, even if you have to spend a night or two in between. I think you will find that you will sleep better. I have to keep the house warm at 67-68 otherwise I get hot but at this temperature it's very comfortable. Some reviews also mention the pearls leaking. To my knowledge, none of the blankets we received showed any signs of this. Mine stays on my bed, over the sheet and under the covers. He doesn't go anywhere else - although I took him for a night to visit relatives. I've had it for a few months now and no signs of leakage or uneven beads have been noticed. He will be with me when I travel because now I don't want to be without him anymore!
