This is the ONLY product I have found that allows me to use mono headphones with my cell phone without distortion or echo. These headphones do exactly what I need and do it well. My 89 year old mother's only complaint about receiving my call through these headphones was that while the audio was very clear, the signal was "too loud". I had to remind her that she could turn down the volume on her phone. There is no microphone volume control on this unit (only headphone volume control) so I couldn't turn down the volume for their ears from my end. Then I realized I could move the mic further away from my mouth (the old fashioned way). This would bring in some ambient noise from the room I was sitting in, but it would also reduce the volume it received. I find this mono headphone/mic unit to be an excellent, efficient, user-friendly device with a sensible design. Most importantly, as mentioned, this is the ONLY product I have found that can successfully meet my needs. I tried 2 different audio adapters from 2.5" to 3.5" to adapt my old mono headphones for use with my cell phone. One of them, "Headset Buddy", was stated to be accurate for my use case. Unfortunately, this element introduced significant echo distortion in the audio path, making communication very difficult. This headset was only slightly more expensive than the "Headset Buddy" adapter and this product is distortion free; and pleasure in use. I'm about to order a second pair to use in another room.
