Advertised as a leather pencil, but from the outside it looks like vinyl or, as my friends joked, real "leather", which is a mix of plastic and leather. The inside is definitely suede. and it's pretty nice. I see the use of this makeup brush roller because of the size of the pockets. I intended this item to be used as a universal tool roll for wax sculpting tools but I don't think it will hold up to the wear and tear on the tool heads. I'm just disappointed with the quality and description of the product.
