A wonderful mouse! I've been using the Evoluent mouse for years, but even that hasn't saved me from wrist problems and severe pain after too many hours of meticulous computer work. The Evoluent was basically a regular mouse turned on its side so your hand is in a neutral "handshake" position. You use exactly the same as a regular mouse; all movements and clicks are the same. However, THIS mouse is different in the following ways: You are still in the neutral "handshake" position BUT - due to the design of the base and the mechanics of the mouse, you are actually moving your ARM more than your wrist. The first day I used it, I immediately felt a difference and realized that it wasn't so much the mere action of the mouse that hurt me so badly, but the very small, delicate wrist movements I was making with all the made other mice. It hurt me; With the penguin mouse, I move my hand and those little wrist movements don't happen! I am absolutely SOLD for this mouse, plus it's two-handed. So when I feel the need to challenge myself and use my other hand a little, I can do so and increase the gap I'm giving my sore wrist. I'll add that the only downside is that it's a bit harder to do small, detailed formatting maneuvers (like Excel spreadsheet formatting, graph detailing, etc.) since you're moving your hand more than your wrist - but I'll just go back switch to a traditional mouse if I really have something that's difficult with it. As you get used to it, you can make your longer strokes and movements more precise, and get closer to the small, subtle movements you could easily make with a regular mouse. This is my salvation! THANK YOU Posturit! One note: you will see 2 ratings from me - one for large and one for medium. This is because I measured my hand according to their size chart and ordered Large based on that. Once I started using it, I found that my fingers couldn't wrap and wrap around the front of the mouse enough, and I was either slipping off the click buttons or making incomplete clicks. I ordered medium and the problem was solved. At first I thought I might bring back the Large, but I actually think someone else at work might use it - or I might even switch it between medium and large just to vary my moves, poses, etc as it goes ergonomic with your sitting position, table, etc. This consistent movement and changes in your movement patterns* are what will help slow down or potentially eliminate the development of various pains from constant desk work. I will be leaving a follow up review in the future to let you know if I'm still having the same success with Penguin. I really hope so because the daily pain I was experiencing was TERRIBLE and really got in the way of everything else I use my wrist for in life. I've read that this mouse might not last as long as regular mice, but with such savings features, it's worth it! I hope this review can help others who are suffering from the same problems as me. Definitely give it a chance. I don't think you will be disappointed. :)
