I've been hesitant to buy this for a long time. Do you have an older 985? And they're fine too, except the plastic coating is peeling off. They are better designed and don't peel off. Our home is awash with wireless signals and fluorescent lights, so I don't have a pristine, noise-free environment. Try to use them within a 25ft radius so there is no problem. Sound quality is important to me and they are really good. In fact, the price dropped to $46 and I got three sets. We often pair two transmitters with one transmitter, no problem here either. The only problem for others may be the lack of analog input. I have Yamaha receivers and they all have a headphone jack so no problem.
