Review on Philips LED 458687 60 Watt Equivalent by Jessica Griffith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Philips LEDs are great for dimming! No other LED mimics the orange light of a low wattage incandescent bulb.

If you need dimming you should buy this brand, Philips came up with it! Both candelabra style and regular E26 center base. Philips is the way to go for dimming right now. I've tried several others from HD, Menards, Wal-Mart and none have this dim level. Approximately the height of one (1) small birthday candle when darkened. It's a beautiful bright orange that's great for bedrooms, bathrooms and anywhere you need a really low, subdued light without the white tint. You may need to try different dimmers. I use the Lutron paddle style with a small preset slider on the side. The Bogao bulbs I ordered in white are not low dimmable and will cut off abruptly at the low voltage disconnect point. Bogao are good bulbs and they look well built and if you want crisp white light with a bit more output than these Philips then they're fine, just really low dimmers aren't available. I'm currently using them with Philips to blend the crisp white light with the warmer Philips yellow light to get more daylight from the ceiling fan. Again, no other LED light I've found, including Cree LEDs, which are very good and my second favorite for dimming, currently bows to Philips levels. I wish they made the equivalent of 75w and 100w in these types of candelabra for more lumens. Published January 2017
