Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Protective Leather Camera Case for Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX10 IV & III by Frank Rivera

attractive and protective

I bought an RX10 IV and needed a case. I knew I needed a sleeve, not a bulky bag, but I couldn't decide between this tight-fitting sleeve and the looser neoprene sleeve (less mechanical protection, better protection against dust and water). Pros: Without a doubt, this case is personally attractive. Feels high quality and looks good. The skin is thick enough to protect, yet pliable enough to open and close fairly easily. It adapts to the figure without losing its place. The interior is soft - gentle on the camera. It is suitable for a camera with the lens hood attached backwards. It comes with a matching strap that looks more stylish than the Sony strap. It's durable and functional. It's a near-perfect design. It's easy to detach one side of the case and pull it up and down to free your hands. While I take the time to make it discreet given the snug fit, I still think it's quicker than pulling it out of any other bag or bag I've seen. The tripod screw hole is built into the body. The ports and battery are accessible while the case is on and closed. Cons: The latch placement is too close to the tripod screw hole for me to use the quick release plate. When I detach the top of the case from these two latches, I can barely screw it almost all the way over the latches. While it's secure enough, I'm a little reluctant to use it this way. And I definitely can't leave a cymbal with a broken body. I can screw on my cheap travel tripod that doesn't have a plate. The snug fit means you have to be careful when sliding it off the camera to avoid snagging on the lens hood or flash. This was more of an issue when I first started using it - skin became a bit more supple the longer I used it. However, I always have to be a bit more careful when opening and closing. Being made of thick leather means it's not a lightweight case, but the camera isn't a place to start either. I knew this was happening, but it's worth noting: the body covers most of the camera, but the side vents allow dust and moisture to enter those parts. Plus, the leather is protective, but obviously the lack of padding means there's a limit. Restrictions are a compromise in favor of comfort and compactness. All in all I don't regret my choice. That's the right balance for me.

Fits my RX10IV with the hood inverted just perfectly.
