To turn off the power light when the computer is off, you need to enter the BIOS and enable ErP support. It may say something similar to EUP, which you need to re-enable. Some BIOSes may have something like "USB charging technology" that you want to DISABLE. Also disable Wake on Mouse, Wake on Keyboard, Wake on LAN etc. OVERVIEW: I like the Sabrent brand as I have used a number of their products over the years with positive results. I physically tested the USB, memory card, SD card and micro SD card slot and everything worked. Also, the BIOS detected and reported all the adapters and even allowed me to boot from them if I wanted to. This product is compatible with StarTech 3.5-5.25 bay adapter. You will need longer screws than the ones supplied. It has a thread pitch on the motherboard - standard mobo screws with a larger hex/phillips head will do. Even then they are long enough. [The StarTech adapter comes with an assortment of different screws that you can use.] Some say you have a little slack with the StarTech Bay adapter, and while that's true, if your eye is three inches away, it is usually imperceptible - it's coming from someone who has OCD about these things. Another complaint I've seen is that the microSD slot fails. In general, microSD slots are fragile, so I'm not surprised. When they fail, it usually boils down to user error and port failures. For mSD I will continue to use my mSD to SD adapter and will only use the native microSD slot if the adapter breaks or is lost. As others have said, the power LED is unusually bright. I applied two coats of matte black Testor model paint *gently* with a toothpick after *gently* sanding the LED lens with 1000 grit sandpaper (as much as possible given the deepening). The result is good, no see-through, but the LED is so bright it actually shines faintly through the adjacent access LED lens, giving you an unobtrusive power indicator as an aside. I photographed this in a very brightly lit room - remember that the camera picks up blue more easily than your eye does. In a bright room you'll only notice it if you look, but in normal or dark conditions you can clearly see the glow. The access light itself is also quite bright and a different color so it's obvious when looking at it. Power (blue) and access (white). The power cord could have been longer for more mounting flexibility, and again, more useful screws could have been included. Aside from that and working with the light, I'm happy for the price of a Happy Meal. The product fills a niche for 2.0 and seems reliable if not abused.
