It's good if you get one that works.

I received this and fortunately tried to insert both sizes of SD card and the USB connector before installing. Those three slots are the only slots I need it for. I can't even log into the reader. I noticed that the metal top of the SD card slot sits too low in the slot opening. Strangely, the mini SD and USB slots worked fine. There was no other way to solve the problem, I rotated the lower platinum part of the slotted hole until the card could be inserted and removed. It's working fine at the

Garbage - DO NOT BUY!

I ordered this item for a computer I was building for my husband who is a professional photographer. When I opened the package and examined the product, I noticed that the plug was damaged. No big deal - I'm very comfortable and installed a new one in no time. Proceed with the installation on a computer and test it with a couple of cards and a USB stick. Everything worked fine. until my husband decided to try the compact card reader slot and we quickly realized that a few pins were bent. When I

Excellent card reader!: Memory card accessory

Works well and is fairly easy to assemble. The only complaint, as others have said, is that the mounting screw heads aren't big enough and can't "grip" the sides of the bay, so I had to use washers to install them. The light is very bright as mentioned by the reviewers. in front of me but it doesn't bother me at all since I have my own office space in my house. See pictures showing brightness. The first is the camera directly in front of the light source, the second shows how far the light…

  • Nice thing
Cons
  • There's trouble

It was cheap so I gave it a try. I bought it for a compact flash reader which is very very small and the card actually has to be inserted upside down to fit. In most readers, 70% of the time the card slides on the guides to guide it properly into the contacts. Not in this block there are no such guides to guide the media card into the contacts, you need a flashlight and a steady hand and PATIENCE, because every time you insert a compact USB stick, it can be the last and chance be bending the…

Does the job but seems cheap and inefficient.

. I installed this card reader in a Micro-ITX case and it seems to do what it says on the tin. The read and write speeds I've observed are largely unimpressive and might recommend simply using a USB card reader instead. Also, the actual ports seem to be of poor quality. The face of the reader is in front of the connectors themselves, not above or flush with them. This means that to connect a card or USB device, you need to perfectly match the device to the reader. It doesn't "snap" in place and

Great product at a great price! *with minor flaws

Before purchasing this product, my external SD card readers kept breaking. I was surprised that this product works great even though it's only $6 * I've been using it for about 6 months now and it has never let me down. Many people have also complained about the LEDs on the reader. However, I didn't even know it was a problem until I read about it in the reviews. To me, the LEDs are a useful indicator that everything is working properly and they aren't too bright or distracting. *UPDATE: I…

Very pleased if a bit bright

I bought this to add a memory card reader to an older 2007 desktop model which is still a workhorse with a few minor updates. The traditional motherboard connector that connects most USB 2.0 devices on DDR2 motherboards is well built and reliable. The card reader slots work well (the microSD and SD card slots and the USB 2.0 slot have been tested. The case is also well made. The only thing I don't like about this product is the blue LED light. It is "always on"." When the computer is on and in…

ENABLE ErP to Extinguish Light

To turn off the power light when the computer is off, you need to enter the BIOS and enable ErP support. It may say something similar to EUP, which you need to re-enable. Some BIOSes may have something like "USB charging technology" that you want to DISABLE. Also disable Wake on Mouse, Wake on Keyboard, Wake on LAN etc. OVERVIEW: I like the Sabrent brand as I have used a number of their products over the years with positive results. I physically tested the USB, memory card, SD card and micro SD

Works great and no problems with it on my build

I will detail each item as other popular reviews have given great information, so in short: My build (all components work fine) :1. Zalman ATX Mid Tower R1 case (nice case, enough space for everything, sufficient cooling and easy cable management).2. ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING LGA1151 DDR4 HDMI DVI M.2 Z370 ATX motherboard with Gigabit LAN and USB 3.1 for 8th generation Intel Core processors (great expandability and room for future upgrades, enough USB ports for most applications) . 3.
