My back loves this spoon. It took me a while to figure out how to use it because the handle is long. However, it has a soft part halfway through that I can use if I need to. It is made of metal and is very durable. The handle is in 2 parts that can be bolted together so you can use it as a short shovel if you like. I like it. As I get older, I look for things that will make my life easier. The cat loves it too and uses his tray as soon as I'm done scooping.
