The holster easily accommodates a Nikon EN-EL23 (Coolpix P900) battery and still has space. It also fits the Nikon EN-EL3e battery, which is much thicker. I like the fact that the holster flap is attached with Velcro and folds over the back. The camera strap is routed over the flip cover for added security while the flip cover remains closed. It is extremely unlikely that the battery will ever fall out of your pocket. The holster is neoprene and should provide adequate protection from any type of rain I'm willing to risk my camera in. For added security, the webbing loop does not open; The strap must be passed through the loop. The inner surface of the loop is attached with Velcro to "narrow" the opening of the loop. I currently have the slim strap holster that came with the camera (Coolpix P900) and even with that slim strap the holster provides a firm grip that keeps the holster where I put it without closing on the strap itself slide. . However, the holster still slides easily when I decide to move it. Another well designed product from WP/Tech!
