First off, this product absolutely works. I have read some complaints from customers who have used this product and got no or not quite the expected result. Here's how I got amazing results and why I needed it in the first place. I bought a CK shirt and prewashed it before I put it on, but without thinking I put on a new pair of blue jeans and they turned my white shirt blue. So I bought the Rit paint remover. FYI I have an extra large capacity top loading machine with an impeller, not an agitator. I have my washing machine set for Extra Large Load, White, Normal, HOT WASH/RINSE and a 1 hour soak time. I added my blue shirt and some extra yellowed shirts and socks to spice things up. I may have had a medium-sized load, but I followed the package directions for the amount of water used. I have 4 packages (large/big load), 1/4 cup lemon pine solution (as a degreaser), 1/4 cup homemade laundry detergent (because I don't use store-bought detergents and I make 100% my own ground soap and liquid soap). I turned on the washing machine and let it run for 2 hours and 50 minutes and checked all the laundry after it was done. I was absolutely shocked to see everything restored to its original beauty in crisp pure white. it looks like as if other customers might not have factored in the soaking time, they just ran a normal cycle and didn't see the results they were hoping for.
