I bought a pastel for silk painting. This is not to say that they are not intended for this, but the result is unexpected. According to the instructions, pastel can be used for any natural fabric. It works best on cotton. The colors are bright but do not mix with each other. I have 15 colors and that's enough for me. They look like oil pastels. I used "old" Pentel fabric pastels which had to be applied to paper and then ironed onto fabric. They weren't very good. This pastel version of Pentel is amazing! I was able to model my drawings and everything was set up with an iron the way I painted it. Hooray!

Bought this for free and was very surprised by the pigment in it. I made this little pouch for my niece to spoil her and even on the deep purple fabric they looked really good! I'm excited about them! Highly recommend and will buy again :)

They are a pleasure to use! They are like crayons that you can make a shirt out of. Once you've drawn your design, you can iron it and the design will (mostly) become permanent. Unfortunately, like any fabric-based design, it will slowly fade with enough washing. I'll give you an example of what you can do, here's a shirt design I made. :-)

These fabric crayons are amazing, they really last many, many washes. Colored pencils are very similar to oil pastels, very soft and fluffy. Stretch materials like t-shirts require a special attachment technique that may be difficult for a small child. They work great on solid materials like canvas, blend easily and the colors are so vibrant. Heat setting is simple and easy and MUST BE DONE for the product to be PERMANENT.
